Most slicers do have an option like "don't travel through gaps", however, which could actually suffice to mitigate this challenge (components are placed in the gaps of the STL).

One challenge of this would be how to keep the print head from bumping into bulky components when travelling. In this mode, the value of the RH1 counter is the inverted value of the RH0. When this mode is active (register 917 1), the user changes the value of the RH0 internal counter. This mode allows two 2-pin rheostats to work as one 3-pin potentiometer. This would make for easy assembly (just shortening some leads for some through-hole components) and should provide good electrical and mechanically robust connections. For this design, we used digital rheostats in potentiometer mode. S-Parameter LTspice PSpice Spectre RF & Microwave Simulation Model. Then, resume the print, printing the top part of the circuit. They are slightly oversized for ease of drilling by the homebrewer. A special branch of the program is the ASIC Designer, which allows design of integrated circuits. These components all have 'enhanced' pcb patterns. TARGET 3001 is a CAD computer program for EDA and PCB design, developed by Ing.-Büro Friedrich in Germany. It supports the design of electronic schematics, PCBs, and device front panels. It runs under Windows and is available in English, German and French. The components are drawn in a graphic style to match the actual shape as viewed from the top 'live bug' style.

ARDUINO developers have made such an option that you can print anything and see it on the Serial monitor. Attached is a component library with PICAXE related parts. The analog reading in the analog inputs are converted into corresponding 10bit(0-1023). The number of the port varies with your ARDUINO model but the coding remains the same. Put the components in place (there are slots in the lower half to receive/hold the leads). Analog to digital conversion module of ARDUINO UNO has 6 input ports. :) There might be one practical advantage of this technology, which would be all-in-one circuit printing and assembly: Print the lower part of the circuit, followed by a gcode pause command (and/or gcode to move the print head out of the way). Printing circuit boards this way looks interesting! Maybe not overly practical, but fun.
